He performed Rock and Roll with several local bands for many years and began teaching at local music stores at age 20. During his career, Randy has also performed solo, with duos and trios, and with bands of many different genres.
After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Guitar Performance and Music Education at the University of AL in Huntsville in 1981, Randy founded the Guitar Program at the University of North Alabama in Florence, in 1983, as Adjunct Professor. In 1992, he continued his education, earning his Master of Musical Arts (MMA) degree at The University of Southern MS, where he also pursued Doctoral studies through 1996. Randy's college and university teaching experience includes instructing applied classical guitar majors and guitar elective students, along with conducting guitar classes and guitar ensembles.
Now, in Maine, teaching Adult Education classes in Guitar and Voice in Bath and Topsham allows Randy to continue sharing the magic of making music with people of all ages and levels of experience. He offers private lessons in guitar, voice, and piano.
Randy enjoys adding to residents' quality of life in assisted-living and nursing home facilities with his personable music therapy performances for, and with, elders in ME, MA, and NH. As a performer, Randy Lindsey provides his unique musical ambience in a wide variety of settings. He enjoys including Jazz Standards, Classical Guitar Pieces, Originals, World Music (Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, Thai), Popular Guitar-Oriented Songs, (and even fun Cowboy Songs). Randy has performed at restaurants, public events, music festivals, and weddings.
